Each day this weekend has the chance of scattered severe storms. This has prompted a pair of WRAL Weather Alert Days for both Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday (WRAL Weather Alert Day): Scattered severe PM storms. Highs in the lower 90s.

Sunday (WRAL Weather Alert Day) : Scattered storms later east of US-1. Highs in the upper 80s.

Monday: Partly cloudy and hot with highs in the low 90s. We have just a small chance for a late-day storm.

More severe weather possible for weekend

Heat index values will really creep up Saturday with feels-like values in the mid to upper 90s from the Triangle south. By Sunday, they are slightly better but still in the low to mid 90s.

Saturday is quite possibly the hottest day of 2025 so far. The heat index is going to peak around 98 to 102 from the Triangle
