AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Temperatures continue to climb today through the weekend with heat alerts likely to be issued at times.

This morning's cloud cover will break apart some allowing for a partly to mostly sunny afternoon sky. High temperatures should be 1-2º warmer than yesterday leaving most of us well into the 90s. Humidity will make it feel even more uncomfortable.

Hot and dry weekend

High pressure building over south Texas will result in even hotter temperatures this weekend.

Both Saturday and Sunday will feature early morning clouds giving way to sunshine, but Sunday appears to see the sun come out earlier with fewer cumulus clouds in the afternoon.

The air stays humid through the weekend making for heat index values between 100-105º both days of the weekend with dew points in the 7
