TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WAFB) - A teen is facing charges in connection with a series of crimes that included an armed robbery, deputies said.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, the crimes were reported to authorities late in the evening on Friday, May 2.
Deputies said the 16-year-old male suspect is accused of the armed robbery at a convenience store on Highway 22 in Ponchatoula. They added that the teen is then accused of threatening the victim with a gun and stealing that person’s car.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office was contacted two days later by law enforcement in Alabama and notified that the stolen vehicle was located in Talladega. Authorities said the vehicle was recovered following a law enforcement pursuit.
