EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Evansville Police are at the scene of a deadly shooting that happened during a home invasion.

Authorities say the 911 call came in just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday at a home on Sweetser Avenue, near McConnell Avenue.

Our news crew at the scene has learned that one of three suspects was shot and killed by a resident at the home that was being broken into.

Police say the suspect who was shot has died, but that the other two suspects fled the scene.

Authorities are searching the area for the two suspects who are on the loose. Numerous officers are aiding in the search, and a drone is also being used.

Officials at the scene say the homeowner was not hurt.

We're told the two suspects who fled the scene were wearing all black, with black gloves.
