WASHINGTON (TNND) — Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota will speak at Democratic political conventions in South Carolina and California later this month as early jockeying for the party’s 2028 presidential nomination is getting underway and Democrats try to figure out how to reshape their image and message to voters after losing the White House and being put in the minority of both chambers of Congress.

Walz will give speeches at state conventions in South Carolina and California on May 31, a continuation of a growing trend of speeches across the country as the 2024 vice presidential nominee weighs what’s next in his political future. He has also made appearances in early-voting Iowa and spoken to Democratic groups in South Dakota and Nebraska.
