The Johnson County and state Democratic parties are teaming up to host an event that is being called the “People’s Town Hall” for Indiana’s Sixth Congressional District on Friday in Greenwood.

From 6:30 to 8 p.m., people will gather at the Greenwood Fieldhouse, 411 S. Madison Ave., for the town hall. Attendees will discuss “the real-world impacts of Republicans’ cuts to Hoosiers’ healthcare, nutrition benefits, and more,” according to a media advisory on the event sent by the state party.

Featured panelists for the event are Indiana Senate Minority Leader Shelli Yoder, D-Bloomington, and state party chair Karen Tallian, with several local party leaders also expected to share remarks, said Amanda Stevenson-Holmes, chair for the Johnson County Democratic Party.
