BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Early Thursday morning, a judge revoked bond for Jeremiah Howze and reset it at a higher amount with a number of new conditions.
It follows a series of I-TEAM reports that raised questions about Howze’s whereabouts while he was being monitored by Criminal Tracking Service, CTS. CTS was suspended from monitoring defendants in the 19th Judicial District Courthouse in Baton Rouge following our reports.
This week, Howze entered a not guilty plea to the charges he faces. According to police, 18-year-old Kyle Earthly Jr. was fatally shot by a classmate while the two were riding in a car. It happened on O’Neal Lane in December of 2024.
Howze’s new bond is set at $650,000 for the following charges.
Second Degree Murder - $400,000
Obstruction of Justice - $100,000
