LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lincoln Police Department is investigating an arson case reported Thursday night that appeared to involve burnt animal feces.

Officers responded shortly before 9 p.m. to a report of a fire near South 20th and J streets. A 26-year-old woman told police someone started a fire inside the window well of her bedroom.

The woman said she only saw the suspect’s back as they ran away. Moments later, she saw flames and ran outside with a cup of water to put out the flames.

Officers said they found burnt electrical wiring and what appeared to be burnt animal feces at the scene.
