EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — A juvenile male died from injuries sustained when he was struck by a vehicle attempting to avoid collision with another car Friday afternoon, township police said.

An investigation revealed that a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro being driven by township resident Gary Battisti, 71, was traveling east on Delaware Avenue and approaching Fernwood Avenue, when a 2022 Mini Cooper operated by 19-year-old Sky Mejiadorado, of EHT, entered the intersection from the north, police said.

Battisti swerved to the right to avoid hitting Mejiadorado but left the road and onto the grass shoulder. Two juveniles who were walking home from Bargaintown Park were struck by Battisti's car, one of whom sustained critical injuries, police said. Battisti's car overturned causing him to be entrapped.
