NEW JERSEY (PIX11) -- NJ Transit and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers & Trainmen reached a tentative deal to end the strike that halted NYC routes Sunday evening.

NJ Transit announced on X that full rail service will restart on Tuesday, as it takes around 24 hours to inspect and prepare the infrastructure.

Supplemental bus service from four regional Park & Rides will be in place and operating on Monday, May 19.

Buses to New York City • Secaucus Junction Bus Plaza to Port Authority Bus Terminal, 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. • PNC Arts Center to Port Authority Bus Terminal, 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. • Hamilton Rail Station to Newark Penn Station for PATH Transfer, 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. • Woodbridge Center Mall to Harrison
