WASHINGTON — The Trump administration has agreed to pay nearly $5 million to settle a wrongful death lawsuit over the fatal shooting of Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, according to attorneys for her husband.

Judicial Watch, the conservative group which represented Aaron Babbitt, and the Justice Department filed a joint motion to dismiss the case Friday saying a final settlment had been reached. According to a statement from Judicial Watch, that settlment includes a $4.795 million payment by the government for Babbitt's death.
