The watches carried all the hallmarks of the current president’s style—they’re gaudy, over-the-top, and gold, and many of them come covered in diamonds. And, as of this week, at least one of the timepieces shares another quality with many of Trump’s products : it’s defective.

Tim Petit, a Rhode Island man, bought a $640 “Inauguration First Lady” watch.
