LUMBERTON, Texas — A nervous excitement has been crackling through the city of Lumberton since a clutch, walk-off single off the bat of Gavin Harmse propelled the Raiders baseball team into the UIL regional finals Saturday night.

For the first time in school history the Lumberton Raiders baseball team has advanced to the fourth round of the UIL state baseball tournament.

In this playoff run the Raiders are no strangers to being the underdogs, with many pundits believing the team would get exposed fairly quickly in these playoffs. Yet time and time again the Raiders have managed to shock the baseball world and not only survive, but flourish.

Now the Lumberton Raiders baseball team is preparing to face their toughest challenge yet this Thursday in the form of the #2 ranked China Spring
