LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A rush to make a flight could cost a driver thousands.
A Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a driver Tuesday morning near Blue Diamond and the I-15 who was traveling over 104 miles per hour in a construction zone, with a posted speed limit of 55.
“He was late, he was trying to get back to California to make a flight to return home to his home state and that was it,” Trooper Kevin Vostinar said.
Trooper Vostinar said these speeds are par for the course on Las Vegas Valley roadways.
“I probably encounter upper 90s to low 100s probably at least once a week, if not every other week,” he says.
Vostinar issued the driver a citation for reckless driving and speeding.
He estimates the driver will owe over $2,000, because fines double in a construction zone, althou
