WASHINGTON, D. C. - The U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday narrowly passed a tax cut and spending package that President Donald Trump referred to as the “big, beautiful” bill, with Ohio’s Warren Davidson providing one of just two GOP votes against it.

“While I love many things in the bill, promising someone else will cut spending in the future does not cut spending,” the Miami County Republican wrote on social media. “Deficits do matter and this bill grows them now. The only Congress we can control is the one we’re in. Consequently, I cannot support this big deficit plan. NO.”

The package passed in a 215–214 vote after an all-night debate. All Democrats voted against it, one Republican voted present, and two missed the vote. The other Republican opposition vote came from Kentucky’
