JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man accused of shooting his wife at the couple's condo on Jacksonville's Southside Sunday afternoon is behind bars.

Emmanuel Alexander, 47, faces charges of second-degree attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and child neglect without great bodily harm in connection with the shooting that left his wife injured.

The incident happened at Sonoma Southside Condo Rentals, located at 7740 Southside Blvd.

Police said around 2:30 p.m., officers responded to the apartment complex regarding a woman who had been shot.

A woman was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to a local hospital in what police described as "critical but stable condition."

Police said the initial investigation found that the victim and her husband were involved
