LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A man was arrested after he reportedly drove drunk to get donuts with children in his vehicle, according to court documents.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched to Casey’s gas station at 4131 Old Woodlawn Road for reports of an intoxicated driver with two juvenile passengers. The two children were five years old and eight years old.
Deputies contacted 29-year-old Vincent Thatcher, who had reportedly consumed a large amount of alcohol the previous night. Deputies noted that Thatcher had smelled of alcohol and had watery eyes.
Thatcher was observed by law enforcement and provided a breath sample. Thatcher’s breath sample tested for .122 of alcohol per 210 liters of breath. It’s unclear if Thatcher consumed alcohol in the minutes or ho
