CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A woman from Kennett, Missouri will spend the next 15 months in prison for her involvement in a fraud case.
On Tuesday, May 27, a judge ordered 55-year-old Sheri L. Reeves to pay $565,000 in restitution to Bank of America in addition to her 15-month sentence. Reeves must also serve a term of five years supervised release after she gets out of prison.
According to the Office of the U.S. for the Eastern District of Missouri, Reeves acted as a money courier or “money mule,” transferring money obtained by fraud to others. The crimes were committed in different states back in 2020.
Despite being warned by the FBI, Reeves continued to help her co-conspirators commit financial crimes.
