LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Southwest Airlines , known for its "Bags Fly Free" slogan, will end its longstanding policy of offering two free checked bags starting May 28.

Passengers will now face a $35 fee for the first checked bag and $45 for the second.

This change aligns Southwest with other airlines that already charge for checked luggage.

The airline, a major carrier for Las Vegas travelers, announced the policy shift earlier this year.

Despite the new fees, Southwest remains competitive in pricing.
