Court documents detail what led up to a firefighter's arrest for arson and other charges.

According to those documents, back on May 10, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Station 4 responded to a call of a vehicle on fire at the station. At the time, Station 4 was out on a call, but when they returned to the station, they found a truck engulfed in flames.

After investigating, court documents show the vehicle was owned by another Suffolk firefighter, who was the ex of Steve Jurnigan’s then-girlfriend.

Documents reveal the firefighter had reported Jurnigan had gotten physical with him back in March, grabbing the back of his neck and threatening him over his relationship with Jurnigan’s girlfriend.

Documents reveal Jurnigan said in that confrontation, “Play with fire, I can play with fire.”
