D uring the dark, troubling days of the pandemic, Gilbert resident Michael Feather sought beauty in his life.
He found it by returning to his art, in the form of urban sketching.
“When I was really struggling the most, and art came back into my life, it became something where I could actually see beauty again in the world,” he said.
Feather can sketch a detailed scene, add color with his personalized 13-color paint palette, and complete the picture. His work, 13 Colors Art, makes the viewer stop, appreciate and savor the moment.
A few days each week, Feather chooses public events or spots in his adopted hometown, and sets up shop to sketch.
Sometimes, he goes to Chandler, Mesa or Tempe, or, when he feels more adventurous, he drives farther out, to Sedona, Pinetop, Flagstaff or other
