The notion of time is a human concept. We consider our past and the future while living in a whirlwind of present moments. The past shapes the present, which models the future, so our journey through life is a continuum, but one marked with milestones.

It has been 50 years since I returned to Christianity. I was brought up in the faith, but like many, I became lost during college in the proverbial “far country” of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32).

There are many pathways to awakening. Mine began in the crucible of medical school when I realized what I was doing was not working. A Christian friend challenged me with simple but irrefutable logic to try a different path and come wit
