Governor Matt Meyer has signed into law House Bill 23, a bill that amends the Human Trafficking law to add “patronizing a victim of sexual servitude” and “trafficking of persons for use of body parts” to the offenses that may serve as a predicate for forfeiture of property under the trafficking statute.
The House passed the bill back in March and the Senate joined them in April. Both chambers passed the bill unanimously, save the absences (pardon the digression, but while we all know that Stell Parker Selby is ill, what is Darius Brown’s excuse for his frequent absence?). Governor Meyer signed the bill on May 7.
