NEW BRUNSWICK – No sooner had the sculpture of the jogger in vintage 1980s tracksuit and matching Nike running shoes been lowered from the delivery truck to the sidewalk than a woman strolling down Albany Street did a double-take.
A man in a hoodie did the same thing a few seconds later.
So did a woman in a blue sundress a few moments after that.
The lifelike, life-sized sculptures from the Seward Johnson Atelier made their return to the sidewalks of New Brunswick on Wednesday, turning heads as they were carefully positioned across the city in the morning.
The jogger, frozen in mid-stride on the sidewalk near the doors of Batch, Bin & Barrel, is one of six sculptures that will call the city home through Nov. 1.
These are just some of the works created by Seward Johnson, a New Brunsw
