CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Guardians were staring at a 3-game sweep by the world champion Dodgers.

One inning turned that around.

Angel Martinez ripped a 3-run homer in the 8th, capping a 5-run rally, as the Guardians nipped LA 7-4 Wednesday afternoon at Progressive Field.

Nolan Jones had tied the game earlier in the 8th with a 2-run single.

Emmanuel Clase worked the 9th for his 11th save.

LA starter Clayton Kershaw went 5 innings, allowing 6 hits and one run while walking 2 and fanning three.

Guardians reliever Kolby Allard made the spot start, replacing the injured Slade Cecconi, and surrendered 2 runs in 4 innings.

Guardians LF Steven Kwan left the game with right wrist inflammation, replaced by Jones.
