Mesa incoming City Manager Scott Butler has appointed Lance Webb as Mesa city engineer. Webb joined the city of Mesa engineering department in 2012 and was appointed as an assistant city engineer in 2022.

Webb replaces Beth Huning, who retired May 22 after an 18-year career as Mesa city engineer.

“Lance brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new position, having been involved in numerous public infrastructure projects over the past 13 years and helping us build Mesa,” Butler said in a release. “Throughout his tenure, Lance has shown tremendous leadership, and I look forward to seeing him excel as Mesa city engineer.”

Webb has worked in various roles and capacities in the engineering department, including leading and providing oversight on over 500 capital improvement project
