MARSHALL — When it gets to the postseason, the only thing that matters is figuring out a way to win and getting the chance to play another day.

In this case, a walk-off single by Austin Miller in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a tie was what Marshall needed to keep its season going.

Marshall edged Eaton Rapids, 3-2, in the first round of this Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 baseball district at Marshall High School on May 27. Marshall advances to host a district semifinal game against Parma Western at 10 a.m. May 31. Coldwater will play Jackson Northwest in the other side of the bracket.
