Elon Musk is stepping down from his role with the federal government after leading the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

But in an interview airing this weekend on CBS Sunday Morning, Musk criticized President Donald Trump's "one big beautiful" bill , saying it contradicts his efforts to reduce government spending. Advertisement

"I'm disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly," Musk said. "[It] increases the budget deficit, not just decreases it, and undermines the work the DOGE team is doing."
