LEESBURG, Va. — A death investigation is underway after a person was found dead inside a burning car in Leesburg Wednesday night.
According to the Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office, crews were called to the 200 block of West Market St. just after 11:30 p.m. for reports of a car on fire parked next to a home.
When LCFR crews arrived from Leesburg, Hamilton, Lansdowne, Purcellville, and Lucketts, along with several command officers, they found a vehicle on fire, parked in a driveway, with flames spreading to the second floor of the home.
Crews extinguished the car fire and began working on the spreading flames while searching for anyone who may have been inside the home, as neighbors claimed two people may still be there.
