NEWARK - It won’t be a boring summer in Newark: a vibrant series of free programming is on the calendar for entertainment and to keep the youth out of harm’s way while they’re out of school.
“Summer is when we double down on our efforts to ensure resources, opportunities and joy are within reach for every family,” said Kyleesha Wingfield-Hill, director of the office of violence prevention and trauma recovery (OVPTR). “To the mom who feels overwhelmed wondering if there's a safe place for her child, this summer we see you. And to the child looking for somewhere to belong, a space to feel safe and a chance to just be a kid, you are our priority.”
