SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Two years after falling in the UIL Class 3A state championship against Boyd, the Wall High School baseball team is hoping to turn the tables this time around.
The No. 2-ranked Hawks opened the state semifinals with a 6-1 victory in Game 1 of the Division II state semifinals against No. 4 Boyd Thursday afternoon at Abilene Christian University.
The Hawks are now one win away from getting back to the title game. They won the crown in 2019.
Game 2 is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Tarleton State University in Stephenville. If the Yellowjackets win that one, it will force a decisive Game 3 at 4 p.m. Saturday in Stephenville.
