LACONIA — A months-long process came to its conclusion Wednesday night after Belknap County representatives voted not to fulfill a request made by county commissioners to restore funding to three agencies who saw their budgets slashed in March.

In March, representatives approved a budget with a 5.5% increase in the amount to be raised by taxes. The budget initially proposed by commissioners included a roughly 12% increase in the same. Contained within the budget passed by the delegation were reductions in the appropriations to three agencies: the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension, Court Appointed Special Advocates of New Hampshire and the Belknap County Conservation District.
