PERRYSBURG, Ohio — Yuepeng Deng has called northwest Ohio home for 15 years. A longtime resident of Perrysburg and employee at First Solar, Deng says two newly proposed Ohio bills are causing him to question his future.

“I take pride in being in Ohio,” Deng said. “But looking at this, these two bills could ruin my life.”

Deng is referring to Ohio House Bill 1 and Senate Bill 88 , a pair of proposals at the Statehouse that aim to restrict land purchases near critical infrastructure by individuals from certain foreign nations.
