SAN JOSE — A big building expected to become the start of a massive tech campus in San Jose that’s slated to sprout on the site of a long-shuttered retail outlet has won final approval from city officials.

Super Micro Computer has won approval from top city planners for a building that totals 333,400 square feet and would be the first stage of what could eventually be a tech campus where a Fry’s Electronics store once operated.

This initial structure would be a three-story warehouse and manufacturing building that would sprout at 550 East Brokaw Road in San Jose.

All of the plans that Super Micro has filed with city planners indicate that the shuttered Mayan-themed Fry’s consumer electronics store won’t be bulldozed.
