Gilbert Public Schools is making ongoing efforts to build leadership capacity among administrators and improve academic outcomes through data-driven strategies and collaborative professional development, officials said.

Leadership coaches Thea Hansen and Tim Cannon, who work respectively with elementary and secondary schools, describe their roles as integral to supporting campus administrators, both new and experienced.

“Our focus and our goal is to work with our new and also with our veteran administrators to develop and continue developing their knowledge, their skills, their expertise,” Hansen said. “We really collaborate well together. We talk about things that are happening. We learn as well so that we can help our leaders learn more.”
