Final high school baseball state rankings headlined by state title favorites

Taking a No. 1 ranking into the postseason is a point of pride.

Upholding it is now the task.

Macomb Dakota, Forest Hills Eastern, Kalamazoo Christian and Portland St. Patrick are officially the state title favorites after landing at the top spot in the final Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association state rankings of 2025.

That doesn’t come with any benefits once tournament play resumes this weekend. But it shows that each team is capable of winning it all.

Dakota is in the No. 1 spot in Division 1 for the second week in a row, climbing all the way to the top after being unranked in the preseason poll. Forest Hills Eastern, which began the year ranked No. 2, headlines Division 2 for the third week after posting the best record in the state at 35-1.
