LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Texas Tech’s ace NiJaree Canady was named a finalist for the 2025 Honda Sport Award for Softball on Friday, announced by Executive Director of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards Chris Voelz.

Canady is one of four finalists and is looking to win the award yet again after being named the winner of it last year.

Jordyn Bahl of the University of Nebraska, Bri Ellis of the University of Arkansas and Karlyn Pickens of the University of Tennessee are the other three finalists up for the honor.

Canady and Texas Tech grabbed a win in the team’s first ever Women’s College World Series, beating Ole Miss, 1-0.
