ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -A man from Illinois admitted to sexually assaulting a woman on the grounds of the Gateway Arch.
Monte Derrell Boatman, 37, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to one felony count of aggravated sexual abuse.
Prosecutors said Boatman took the Metro from Fairview Heights to Laclede’s Landing the evening of Dec. 6, 2023. He was then captured on surveillance video passing the victim near 4th Street and Washington Avenue around 5:19 p.m. and started following the victim.
Boatman admitted he grabbed the woman from behind, wrapped his arms around her and, with a razor blade to her neck, forced her into the bushes, where he assaulted her while threatening her life.
