A body pulled from the Clinton River on Thursday by Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies has been identified as 59-year-old Gregory Leino of Eastpointe.
The Macomb County Medical Examiner’s Office concluded nothing suspicious was found and the cause of death was ruled as drowning.
On May 29, Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Marine Division deputies pulled a decomposed body from the Clinton River underneath the Southbound Gratiot Avenue bridge.
A passer by had called 911 at approximately 2:25 on Thursday afternoon and reported seeing feet in the river near Shadyside Park amid some debris. An investigation into the death is ongoing. Anyone with details should contact the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office.
