CHEVY CHASE, Md. — A Maryland teen is helping kids get off the sideline, providing free sports equipment for students in need. Caroline Mohamadi, 17, said she’s received hundreds of bats, balls and cleats that she’s used to help kids get in the game.
"Just providing that equipment, it breaks such a huge barrier," she said. "I think that’s the coolest part.”
The Sidwell Friends School junior is a captain on the field hockey team. She knows not everyone grew up able to play the sports she could, and that fueled her mission.
“I feel like a lot of the people I play with, they all come from the same background," said Mohamadi. "They all come from upper class, upper middle-class families. I feel like I’m connecting with people even though I haven’t met them that I’ve never really connected wi
