SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The No. 2-ranked Wall High School baseball team is facing No. 4 Boyd in Game 2 of a Class 3A Division II state semifinal at 7 tonight in Stephenville, and here's a quick preview.

Wall won the series opener 6-1 Thursday night at Abilene Christian University, behind a strong pitching performance by Hawks ace Gage Reichenau.

And now the Hawks are one win away from reaching the state-title game next week at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

The Hawks have some extra incentive to get past Boyd, after the Yellowjackets won their first state title in 2023 at Wall's expense.

Wall is trying to make the state finals for the fourth time in program history. The Hawks won their only state crown in 2019, and they finished second in 2017 and 2023.
