BORGER, Texas (KFDA) - The City of Borger hosted a ribbon cutting for the newly renovated pool at Johnson Park Youth Center (JPYC).

The City spent over $3 million on renovations to expand and improve the space.

City officials say the pool was originally built in the 50’s and had undergone smaller updates over the years.

The city replaced all plumbing, boilers, and filtration systems and set out to bring the pool up to a modern standard.

“First of all, you have much more space for the public to come and enjoy the pool. With the new facility, the new pump room, with all that, it’s just exciting, so that way, you come out and let them enjoy it,” said Emanuel Dickson, recreation coordinator at Johnson Park Youth Center.

Updates also included an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)-friend
