SPIRITWOOD, N.D. — Dakota Spirit AgEnergy has increased its yields for corn oil and ethanol in the past 10 years, according to Jeff Zueger, CEO of Harvestone Low Carbon Partners.

Dakota Spirit AgEnergy produces clean-burning ethanol from corn in addition to distillers grains and corn oil, according to Harvestone Low Carbon Partners, which owns Dakota Spirit.

Zueger said the rate that Dakota Spirit AgEnergy converts corn into ethanol has increased to an average of over 3 gallons per bushel in 2024. Ethanol production has increased by over 20%, rising from 68 million gallons in 2016 to more than 83 million gallons in 2024.
