BELTSVILLE, Md. — A Prince George's County man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he not only had child pornography in his possession, but was trying to obtain more.

According to the Maryland State Police, 41-year-old Edwin Antonio Valdez Olivar, from Beltsville, is charged with seven counts of possession of child pornography, seven counts of accessing and viewing child pornography, and seven felony counts of charges related to causing the production of child pornography.

Investigators say Valdez Olivar began messaging with Maryland State Police Computer Crimes troopers in December 2024. During that time, Valdez Olivar allegedly spoke about owning and watching child sex material. MSP says Valdez Olivar would receive child sex material on his cell phone.
