DUBLIN, Ohio (WCMH/AP) -- Scottie Scheffler turned a relatively quiet Saturday into a roar at the 18th hole at Muirfield, collecting birdies on four of the final five holes to take a one stroke lead heading into the final round.

The world's No. 1 golfer and defending tournament champion shot a 4-under 68 while Ben Griffin bogeyed on 18, leading to a changing of the guard at the top of the leaderboard.

“I don’t know what the scoring average was today, but I was definitely proud of the way I finished and it was really challenging,” Scheffler said. “Through 13 holes, I felt like I was playing really good and I was only even par. Just a hard course.”
