For the first time in program history, the Bruins of Salt Lake Community College are Alpine Bank Junior College World Series champions. The Bruins ascended to the mountaintop with a 9-6 win over top seed Walters State in front of a sold-out crowd of 12,305 on Saturday night at Suplizio Field.
“From the start... we always had the goal of getting to the national championship,” Bruins outfielder Luke Jacobs said. “I’ll never forget this.”
