HOUSTON (KIAH) — Anthony Battle and Alicia Buchanan were brought before a judge on theft charges yesterday and during the court hearing, it was revealed that the two broke into a police officer's vehicle and stole a backpack with $2,500 inside.

The judge also learned that both suspects have criminal records and have been involved in theft-related incidents in the past.

They are both behind bars currently. Battle’s bond has been set at $20,000, and Buchanan’s bond has been set at $7,500.

It has not yet been released what agency the officer works for.
