WARREN, Ohio - The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project is looking for a medical foster for a dog that was found emaciated in Warren.

Healthy Heart and Paws CEO Jason Cooke said they "desperately need" a medical foster for Spud, who is currently at Animal Medical Care Center and Cat Hospital in Niles.

Spud was found emaciated at a home on North Leavitt Road by Warren Police on Friday. Spud was ultimately surrendered to Healthy Hearts and Paws, who took him to the animal hospital.

Cooke said that he expects charges to be filed against Spud's former owners for animal cruelty and neglect.

Spud is expected to be out of the hospital Saturday afternoon.

Anyone interested in fostering Spud can contact Healthy Heart and Paws at 234-855-5847.
