LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KOLO) - A Las Vegas woman was killed in an apparent stabbing in her apartment in the 6900 block of Dunsbach Way on Saturday, May 31, about 5:40 p.m., according to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s (LVMPD) news release.

When medical personnel arrived, they pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Officers canvassed the area and found the suspect. Mason Mireles, 34, was taken into custody without incident.

Mireles is the son of the victim’s roommate.

During Mireles’s visit, he left and upon return he pulled out a knife, yelled at the victim, and stabbed her multiple times, according to the LVMPD homicide unit.

Mireles was arrested, booked into the Clark County Detention Center, and charged with open murder with a deadly weapon.
