AUBURN, Ala. — North Carolina State baseball got a season-saving win with emphasis Saturday, shutting out 4-seed Central Connecticut State 12-0, bouncing the Blue Devils from this year's Auburn Regional and keeping the Wolfpack alive for another nine innings.
Starting pitcher Ryan Marohn turned in his third start of at least eight innings, issuing 10 strikeouts and no walks in the shutout effort.
"He's kind of the enforcer on our ball club," North Carolina State coach Elliot Avent said of Mahron postgame. "A lot of guys work hard, but he does it all the right way. A lot of toughness, a lot of mental toughness, and it showed out there today."
Thanks to Marohn's efforts, the Wolfpack will move on to a rematch with Stetson on Sunday (3 p.m. ET, ACCN) for the second time in three days. Shou
